In the single player mode of The Blochkheads, you explore a big 2-D world made out of blocks. You start out by choosing if you will create a male or a female Blockhead, how you want it to look and give it a name. The goal is basically anything you want it to be although it is recommended to build a base camp for chests and shelter.

Without following basic guidelines a Blockhead will slow down when walking, climbing, harvesting, and crafting which makes the game progress slowly. In order to keep a Blockhead happy you will need to have it gather food. An easy and quick way to get food is by trees, where (depending on which tree) food is spawned periodically. Do not fear if there is no food due to there being many ways to get than just trees.

When you start you will warp in by a portal that is automatically spawned in the world. The portal may not look like much now but with a few time crystals your portal will become your most valuable object in the game (excluding the diamond pickaxe). Do not just go nuts and buy however many time crystals you think you will need because getting time crystals is almost easy as pie. When you can get so many time crystals you will be able to get picks that double, triple, quadruple, and even give you times five from mining, making getting time crystals much easier.

When night falls a Blockhead will want shelter and probably get tired, decreasing happiness due to lack of sleep and his surroundings (out in rain, cold, dark, hot). If you do not give it what it wants it will start to go slow making you in the end, mad. Now when you have a good shelter explore, there are many achievements to unlock, you can warp in more Blockheads to help out, you can go to the North and South Poles to get items with unique powers, it's your world and you can do whatever you want with it!
