How it works

I was able to use two iPads (a 1 and the latest (5?) with retina), both using my Game Center login, and accessed a world on the newer iPad. They have the same version of The Blockheads but not the same iOS. My next tests will be with an iPhone 5 (not up to iOS7 yet) and if I can use a portal chest to move stuff from one device to another. --McClaw (talk) 10:52, 20 October 2013 (MDT)

You can use portal chests. However, it's somewhat complicated. Also, this was local network? It's like a server- the game cares about the other game's version only. --Abcboy (talk) 10:56, 20 October 2013 (MDT)
It was local network, both using the same wireless router. So it's only going through Game Center multiplayer that the iOS must match? Or is that a misstatement? I suppose I should try accessing a world on the older device, too. --McClaw (talk) 11:00, 20 October 2013 (MDT)

Version 1.7 effects

I've attempted local network multiplayer using some of my iOS devices: an iPhone 7+ running iOS 11.3 and Blockheads 1.7, an iPad Mini 2 running iOS 10.3.3 and Blockheads 1.6.3, an iPad 4 running iOS 10.3.3 and Blockheads 1.7, and an iPad 1 running iOS 5.1.1 and Blockheads 1.6. The iPhone could find Blockheads on the iPad mini but not the other two (with the iPads hosting a local network multiplayer session). My conclusion is that Blockheads 1.7 can use the local network to connect to other copies of 1.7 but not earlier versions, but that differences in iOS aren't an issue. --McClaw (talk) 18:25, 17 April 2018 (MDT)
