Any one else familiar with how cave trolls respond near lava? I have encountered one that was literally one stock block above magma. I pickaxed the stone, and rather than fall into the magma the cave troll retreated. Not sure if he would have done that anyway (i.e. if the magma hadn't been there), or if magma is an effective deterrent. --[[User:Nonnal|Nonnal]] ([[User talk:Nonnal|talk]]) 08:28, 7 January 2014 (MST) |

I'd be interested in what happens if two players double-team a troll, one to lure it away, the other to steal the chest and torches. Would the troll return to the empty space? --McClaw (talk) 09:12, 16 October 2013 (MDT)
- With trolls unable to pass through a one-block-high gap, I wonder if an "arrow slit" would make a good tactic? --McClaw (talk) 20:12, 22 October 2013 (MDT)
- But anyway, yes the Cave Troll would return to the empty space. And it takes a lot of hits with a bow to kill one - it's been reported to be around one full bow gets used when killing them. So… if you are willing to use that many bows/arrows, it would probably work. --ErickMatrix (talk) 01:00, 23 October 2013 (MDT)
- There should be a button labeled ”edit" right next to it. On other pages, it lets you edit the entire page at once. --Abcboy (talk) 13:24, 23 October 2013 (MDT)
