Where Found
A kiln or electric kiln is required to make glass. One sand is consumed per block created.

It can used in construction to allow additional sunlight into a structure or be used in crafting other resources.
Crafting
Glass can be processed in a kiln to make windows.

Glass is also required to make a camera.

Glass is needed for steel lanterns, steel downlights and steel uplights

Notes
A ceiling made of glass may not prevent rain or snow from falling through. This is due to the fact that falling rain or snow is drawn on screen depending on the amount of natural light let in.
