When hunting scorpions, one tactic that can often avoid being damaged from retaliation is a flying bow attack. This requires a well-fueled jetpack and either type of bow, and should only be employed during daylight. The idea is to start well above a scorpion's attack range, select the bow to make an attack, and quickly select your starting point again so the attacking blockhead retreats before the scorpion can retaliate.
