Instead of having to craft separate items for where a directional light shines, what about making a single directional light that can be adjusted as to where it points? I imagine it working like this: A Spotlight has a "Direction" setting in addition to being able to be removed; Direction values are up, down, left, right, and the four diagonals, and will shine in an arc of up to 90 degrees centered on that direction from where it is placed. If placed against a back wall, it will appear in the middle of the space an can be directed anywhere. If placed against a solid block, it will appear attached to that block; it's also restricted from pointing toward an adjacent solid block (glass and black glass would not invoke this restriction) either directly or diagonally, but could shine parallel to its surface. All existing Steel Uplights / Downlights would become Steel Spotlights with their Direction set appropriately. Direction for a newly placed Spotlight would be either toward or away from the placing blockhead. Only the Spotlight owner (the one who placed it) or a world Admin can adjust the Direction or remove a Spotlight. --McClaw (talk) 21:24, 9 November 2015 (MST) | Instead of having to craft separate items for where a directional light shines, what about making a single directional light that can be adjusted as to where it points? Would be nice if we could save worlds from a server or a other device.--SirGorgeJones (talk) 11:42, 10 November 2015 (MST) |
