Template:Block Infobox A wooden door is an item created at a Metalwork Bench.

Appearance

When placed, a door fills the space of two vertically-stacked blocks and takes on characteristics of the local back wall, the block above it, the block below it, or just wood. When placed on top of open dirt, it usually acts as wood.

Viewed in detail, a placed door appears to be composed of two side-facing doors, a gap between them, and block-like surfaces before and behind.

Crafting

It is created using two (2) Iron Blocks. While parts of it can take on the appearance of other blocks, the door itself always looks to be iron.

Uses

Iron doors are construction blocks that allow the person who placed the iron door blockhead(s)to pass but are a barrier to creatures or other players. They can be removed with the appropriate tool applied to it.

A Blockhead passing through a door's location will automatically open and close it, although special circumstances may make it appear that the door is left open. The door will always be opened away from the Blockhead opening it, and a door with a solid block on the other side cannot be opened.

A door can make a convenient "fence" to keep animals from passing without significantly slowing down a Blockhead.

It can also be useful in multilayer as to allow only you to pass through the door and not other players.
