Yak

Yaks are a new species of passive creatures introduced in version 1.7. They are a source of several new items used as ingredient for the new tools and blocks introduced in 1.7. A yak's preferred food is wheat.

Appearance

Yaks are large animals that are brown colored and have horns on their head. They can be shaved, which will make them shaved, only the hooves and the head are still furry.

Baby yaks appear smaller in size, the head however is almost the same size as the adult ones.

Where Found

Yaks randomly appear near wheat stalks, baby yaks may spawn near adult yaks that are old enough.

Behavior

Yaks are calm animals that will not run when a blockhead approaches it. It will not fight back when being attacked, only flee.

Hunger

When a Yak is hungry, it will eat a wheat that is on the ground, by a blockhead's hand or from an feeder chest.

Taming

Yaks can be tamed by feeding it with wheat a few times.

Uses

Yaks are a source of three things:

• Yak Shavings - Obtained when a unshaved yak is being shaved with a Razor.
• Wheat - Randomly dropped by a yak when it dies.
• Yak Horn - Randomly dropped by a yak when it dies. A key ingredient for making Razor.
• Leather - Randomly dropped by a yak when it dies.
