The Tool Bench is one of the most important crafting surfaces in The Blockheads, as it is where the best items for harvesting resources can be crafted.

Level 1

The following tools can be created with any tool bench:

  • Flint Spade - Dig faster. (one stick, three flint)
  • Flint Machete - For plants and branches. (one stick, two flint)
  • Flint Axe - Chop down trees. (one stick, three flint)
  • Flint Pickaxe - Mine rock and ore. (one stick, five flint)
  • Flint Spear - Feeling stabby? (one stick, one flint)
  • Upgrade to level 2 - (five Stone)

Level 2

The following tools are also available from a level 2 or greater tool bench:

  • Stone Axe - Chop faster than flint. (one stick, three stone)
  • Stone Pickaxe - Mine faster than flint. (one stick, five stone)
  • Stone Spade - Dig even faster. (one stick, three stone)
  • Upgrade to level 3 - (five bronze ingots)

The following tools are also available from a level 3 or greater tool bench:

  • Bronze Pickaxe - Mine faster than stone. (one stick, five bronze ingots)
  • Bronze Machete - Clear bush even faster. (one stick, two bronze ingots)
  • Bronze Sword - Dodo destroyer (one stick, three bronze ingots)
  • Tin Spade - Clear dirt with one dig. (one stick, three tin ingots)
  • Upgrade to level 4 - (five iron ingots)

Level 4

The following tools are also available from a level 4 or greater tool bench:

  • Iron Pickaxe - Mine better, faster. (one stick, five iron ingots)
  • Iron Machete - Plant matter splatter. (one stick, two iron ingots)
  • Iron Sword - A sharper sword. (one stick, three iron ingots)
  • Iron Axe - Tree? What tree? (one stick, three iron ingots)
  • Upgrade to level 5 - (five steel ingots)

Level 5

The following tools are also available from a level 5 or greater tool bench:

  • Steel Pickaxe - Better than iron. (one stick, five steel ingots)
  • Upgrade to level 6 - (five gold ingots)

Level 6

The following gold tools are available only from a level 6 tool bench:

  • Gold Spade - Find seeds in dirt. (one stick, three gold ingots)
  • Gold Pickaxe - Find gems in rock. (one stick, five gold ingots)

Notes

All options are viewable on a tool bench's crafting menu, but those unavailable due to its level are overlaid by the image of a lock with the required level number on it.

As upgrades are implemented, that menu option disappears.
