"Plants & trees grow faster."

Compost is a crafted block introduced in version 1.1. It is used to grow plants and trees faster and bigger for farming needs. Once placed in a location, it may remove it by hand or spade fairly quickly. When removed, there is a slight chance of producing a worm.

Appearance

Due to its composition, compost looks similar in appearance to dirt but with a darker overall tone. If exposed to air on top, it will eventually acquire "grass" like dirt but with small white and yellow dots probably meant to be wildflowers.

Where Found

Compost is crafted from five kelp at a level 2 craft bench.

Uses

Compost is mainly used to produce faster quantities of consumable and/or renewable resource items. Once a suitable location for the compost is selected, seeds, fruits, or vegetables may be planted in it.

Digging out compost may also produce a worm.
