A ladder is a tool that allows you to climb up or down faster once placed. Ladders can be removed by tapping on them. Removing the ladder your Blockhead is holding onto when there is nothing else nearby to grab is the only verified way to fall other than doing the same with blocks. Flowing water will dislodge a placed ladder, dropping it as a loose item.
