Using a spade to dig up a deposit of clay yields the best results, three units instead of one.
Clay can be used to craft oil lanterns and coffee cups using a craft bench. Ten clay on a press will produce one Red Ochre dye.
As of version 1.1.1, clay can be created using a press on a block of dirt and a bucket of water. This will yield ten clay and an empty Bucket. (A bug in version 1.1 would return ten clay and ten buckets. This has been corrected.)
