A wooden door is an item created at a Woodwork Bench.
Appearance
When placed, a door fills the space of two vertically-stacked blocks and takes on characteristics of the local back wall, the block above it, the block below it, or just wood. When placed on top of open dirt, it may act as wood instead of dirt.
Viewed in detail, a placed door appears to be composed of two side-facing doors, a gap between them, and block-like surfaces in front and behind.
Where Found
It is created using three blocks of wood. While parts of it can take on the appearance of other blocks, the door itself always looks to be wooden.

Removing
A wooden door will react to attempts to remove it as if it were the type of block it's taken the appearance of. This includes the appropriate tool and the number of strokes required to remove.
Uses
Wooden doors are construction blocks that allow all blockheads to pass but are a barrier to creatures.
Any blockhead passing through a door's location will automatically open and close it, although special circumstances may make it appear that the door is left open. (Examples: Stopping inside the door by cancelling the action at the right moment and then teleporting away. Mounting a donkey that is immediately on the other side of a door.) The door will always be opened away from the blockhead opening it, and a door with a solid block on the other side cannot be opened.
A door can make a convenient "fence" to keep animals from passing without significantly slowing down a blockhead.
In version 1.3, a new type of door, the iron door, was added. It prevents blockheads not owned by the player whose blockheads placed the door from going through.
