Worms are passive creatures found throughout a blockhead's world. They were introduced in version 1.2. Although they are creatures, worms act as acquired items. Worms can be used both as an edible food item as well as an item used in the crafting process.
Appearance
Worms are depicted as a squiggle of reddish brown.
Where Found
Worms are found by digging dirt (with or without grass) or compost. They are produced randomly and not infrequently at an estimated chance of about 5% per spade stroke (this means that using a higher level spade will result in a lower worm per grass block ratio), although a spade is not required. In compost, there is a higher chance a worm will be found.
Farming
There is no way to ensure a worm will spawn. Only the persistent harvesting of dirt blocks will eventually produce them. Using a spade does not seem to yield more worms, although it saves time.
Crafting
Worms are used as bait in the crafting of a fishing rod at a level 2 craft bench.
|
|
Worms are also a required component to craft a compost bin.
|
|
Uses
Worms are also edible resource food items. When consumed, a worm will restore a small portion of a blockhead's hunger bar and health bar.
