Clay is a useful material found in the dirt layer above bedrock. Using a spade to dig up a deposit of clay yields the best results, giving three clay instead of one.
Appearance
As an item, clay appears as a light gray oblong shape, similarly to an ingot.
Where Found
Clay may be found occasionally in areas with dirt.
Starting with version 1.1, clay can be created using a press on a block of dirt and a bucket of water. This will yield ten clay and an empty tin bucket.

Clay can be used to craft a kiln.

Clay can be used to craft oil lanterns, cups, and red bricks using a kiln.

Ten clay on a press will produce one red ochre pigment.
