- "Fuel and advanced materials."
The refinery is a crafting surface which crafts advanced materials.
Appearance
Resembling gray boxes with white and red striped chimneys, a refinery is two blocks tall and accepts electricity through the bottom part. Although it may sometimes look like it is connected through its upper half, power will not flow into the unit there when it is active.
It is different from most other benches because it must be placed on a solid surface (block) and cannot be unsupported on a back wall. However, a refinery will not drop when the block below it is removed. A refinery cannot be placed where there is a glass pane.
When active, big, black particles will start coming out of the refinery instead of small, white particles.
Where Found
A refinery is made at a level 4 workbench. It is the only crafting surface to itself be crafted from a crafting surface.

A refinery requires a source of electricity to be used. Compared to other electric benches, a refinery uses significantly more power; ten solar panels at full power will barely keep a refinery powered without interruption.
Trivia
Three-fifths of the items that can be crafted using a refinery are liquid. Only two can be used away from a refinery.
