A diamond is a rare precious gemstone item that is used in crafting or for upgrading a portal.
Appearance
Diamonds are sky blue and square (standing on a point) in appearance. They have a large sparkle and their size is slightly larger than all the other gemstones. They are distinctively radiant with a white luminescence under a lack of direct sunlight. The luminescence appears to radiate slightly brighter than the other gemstones. They also reflect light to surrounding blocks. They do not have a shape similar to any other gem type.
Where Found
Diamonds are naturally found several hundred blocks deep in the cavernous networks and underground regions of the world. They are typically surrounded by hard rock, such as stone. Rarely but occasionally, they can be found underwater in a subterranean confined or perched aquifer. They may be purchased from a level 6 trade portal. They can also, rarely, be found in a golden chest or received from meditation.
Portal Upgrade
Diamonds are needed to upgrade a portal to a diamond portal, allowing a blockhead to craft a diamond pickaxe and some other special items.

|
They also allow a level 5 trade portal to be upgrade to level 6, increasing the variety of items that can be bought and sold.

|
Crafting
Diamonds can be used to craft diamond pickaxes at a portal once the portal has achieved a diamond upgrade.
|
|
Diamonds can also be used to craft a diamond chandelier at a craft bench that has achieved a Lvl. 3 upgrade.
