An iron trapdoor is an item created at a Metalwork Bench.
Appearance
An iron trapdoor, similarly to a trapdoor, will take on some characteristics of an adjacent block or back wall. They will take on the appearance of the block to the right, the block to the left, or the back wall of its placement. Viewed at an angle, they appear to be hollow with a ladder from below and have a brown, wood-like design on their top surface.
Crafting
It is created using one iron block and one ladder.

Removing
An iron trapdoor will react to attempts to remove it as if it were an iron block no matter the block it's taken the appearance of. This includes the appropriate tool and the number of strokes required to remove (thirty-two strokes from a diamond pickaxe minimum).
Uses
Iron trapdoors are construction blocks that allow a blockhead to walk on top of it normally and allow only the blockheads owned by the player whose blockhead placed the iron trapdoor to pass vertically.
When a blockhead passes through vertically, the iron trapdoor will open upward, exposing the gap. It doesn't matter which direction the blockhead approaches from or travels to, as the trapdoor always opens in the same direction. It closes automatically after the blockhead passes.
A blockhead may appear to pass through the side of a trapdoor under some circumstances.
If a trapdoor placed immediately above or below a solid block, it may not function properly. This state may persist if the obstruction is cleared. Resolving the problem can be as simple as removing and replacing the trapdoor.
