A ladder is a tool that allows blockheads to climb up or down faster once placed. Ladders can be removed by tapping on them. Flowing water will dislodge a placed ladder, dropping it as a loose item. Prior to version 1.4, removing the ladder a blockhead was holding onto when there was nothing else nearby to grab was the only verified way to fall other than doing the same with blocks.
