Hi! I'm GizmoDude. I don't really have much to say here, but since you clicked on the link to this page, you probably want to know about me.

  • I am a nerd. I like math and music (and Minecraft!) and stuff.
  • I like tostadas. (They're like flat tacos.)
  • I have a cat that's cuter than yours.
  • I can read text upside-down and sideways.
  • I have been playing the Blockheads for over 3 years.

Exploration Guide (Work in Progress)

Here are some tips I have for exploring (as in traveling around the world).

List of Items to Bring With You

  • Bring a boat and a carrot on a stick. These are essential for transportation, if you encounter an ocean or a donkey.
  • Bring at least three chests for storage for any resources you might find along the way.
  • Bring a full set of armor for protection against dropbears, skarks and scorpions, as well as a sword (or bow and arrow) to combat them.
  • Bring some fur boots and a fur coat to keep you warm while traversing cold places.
  • Bring at least a stack of torches or some steel or oil lanterns for light at night and caving.
  • Bring an iron or steel pickaxe, and if you are using less durable tools, bring more than one. These are for any cave systems you may find along the way.
  • Bring at least four portals. Place these at the east and west equators and the north and south poles for quick transportation to faraway places whenever you want.
  • Bring a workbench, so if you need to start over, you can. Also useful if you want to make a vacation home.
  • Bring a gemstone pickaxe, so if you find some valuable resources such as time crystals or some other ore, you can get duplicates.
  • Bring a machete. Gather any new items you discover (such as fruits or vegetables) to bring back home.
  • Bring some dirt for building blocks and a spade to dig them up.
  • At least a stack of some sort of food. Walking and climbing mountains makes you hungry.
  • A bed, to skip the night.

Some Time-Saving Tips

  • If you already have the achievement Mountaineer (or do not want it right then) and have enough durability on your pickaxes, consider cutting through mountains instead of climbing them. This can save you a lot of time, and you may discover new cave systems.
  • If you find a donkey and have a carrot on a stick, ride it! It is much faster and can jump up mountains easily.
  • Don't micromanage your Blockhead. By default they select the fastest way currently available to them to go somewhere.
  • If you already have the south pole boots of speed, wear them! They make you about twice as fast when walking and can never break.
  • If you want to get two Blockheads somewhere together and you have the South Pole Boots of Speed, make one wear it, and when one is far ahead of the other, drop the boots so that when the second Blockhead comes to where the Boots were dropped, he can speed ahead of the first Blockhead and start the process over again. This works best when the Boots are dropped about halfway to the destination, and both Blockheads will arrive at the same time. And don't worry about the Boots despawning, they can't do that either!
  • Wear fur boots when in snowy areas to walk faster than normal. Leather boots also make you walk faster than normal in any circumstance.
  • If money isn't a problem, consider buying items intead of taking time to craft them.

  • Remember that on top of each pole or equator there is a special, unbreakable peice of clothing that can be very useful to you! Don't forget to build up to these!
