I think it would be a good idea to add back the ability for user creation on the wiki. Paging [abcboy on the forums is discouraging to new users due to the time consuming nature of it. I think that we should set "$wgGroupPermissions['*']['createaccount'] = true;" :). Interested in hearing the rationale behind the initial decision by MintYogi. [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ConfirmAccount This mediawiki extension] may be useful if the need to moderate account creation is still needed. I think that we should encouraging editing more since there are many stubs. Happy to help out with moderating recent changes but I'd like to welcome new editors since there are many new pages needed since the new update.
