Where Found
Coffee cherries are typically found in the equatorial biome growing on coffee cherry trees. They are a late summer / early fall crop that spawns after apples.
Farming
Coffee cherries grow seasonally on coffee cherry trees and are harvested by hand. Coffee cherries may also be collected by felling the tree that bears the fruit and picking them up from the ground. Agriculturally, the fruit can be placed in a block of dirt or compost to grow a coffee cherry tree for farming additional coffee cherries.
Eating
The coffee cherry is edible restoring Health, Hunger, and Energy to a Blockhead.
Crafting
The coffee cherry can be processed in a press to produce a green coffee bean which is the beginning of the process to create coffee. The next steps are crafting a Cup, roasting the green bean in the Kiln, and then using those two items with a Bucket Of Water at the Craft Bench to make coffee. However, unless you are trying to obtain the Espressoholic achievement, don't bother making coffee. The coffee cherries may not be equivalent in energy or food value but the effort and materials it takes to make coffee to great to be worth it.
Trivia
The Coffea Tree produces red or purple fruits called "cherries" that look like drupes, but are in fact epigynous berries. The cherries contain two seeds, the so-called "coffee beans", which — despite their name — are not true beans.
