Dodo Bird

Dodos are short, red/purple/blue flightless birds found wandering over the ground throughout the Blockhead's world. They occasionally squawk, but are no threat to a Blockhead.

Where Found

Dodos randomly appear near apple trees and can be found in nearly all warm biome regions. Dodo birds can be found walking or pecking the ground and will not attempt to climb a two-block change in height.

Harvesting

A dodo bird is not a hardy creature, usually falling to two blows from a spear or one from an iron sword. Whether dying on its own or killed, a dying dodo makes a distinctive "squawk" sound. The below table shows the number of times the Dodo must be hit with a particular weapon before it is killed.

Weapon Number of Hits
Flint Spear 2
Bronze Sword 1
Iron Sword 1

Uses

Dodos are a source of three things:

  • Dodo Eggs - Randomly dropped by a dodo bird when provoked, frightened, or at random intervals.
  • Dodo Meat - Randomly dropped by a dodo bird when killed.
  • Dodo Feathers - Randomly dropped by a dodo bird when killed.
