Style Guidelines

  1. Use start case (capitalization of all words, regardless of the part of speech) for page names (e.g. Carrot On A Stick)
  2. Page titles should use the exact name from the game, but not necessarily the same case (see the first guideline)
  3. Page titles should be singular except when the name of a single unit of the item in the game is plural
  4. Internal links should display grammatically correct case (e.g. the link for the page Carrot on a Stick at the start of a sentence would be: [[Carrot on a Stick|Carrot on a stick]])
  5. Images should have captions describing the subject of interest for the page
  6. The word "blockhead(s)" should only be capitalized if at the beginning of a sentence or when referring to the game. (e.g. A blockhead can sail across using a boat. The Blockheads features oceans.)

Basic Structure of Articles

Item Articles

  1. New articles should begin with a {{Stub}} tag. It will be removed or replaced by an administrator when the article is complete.
  2. The second inclusion should be the Template:Item Infobox. All applicable parameters should be filled out, and all that don't apply should not be on the page.
  3. The third inclusion is the quote taken from in-game crafting menus, if any.
  4. The fourth inclusion is a simple, concise description of what the article is about (the lede).
  5. The fifth inclusion is an "Appearance" section.
  6. Next, a "Where Found" section, which includes how an item is crafted or otherwise created.
  7. Following that are sections on "Crafting" (using the item to make other items, if possible) then "Use".
  8. "Notes" covers miscellaneous information that doesn't fit the above.
  9. "Trivia" is for real-world information about the item that might be of interest.
  10. A Gallery is the final section, should there be any additional images concerning the subject that aren't appropriate elsewhere in the article. Do not include the section header if the gallery is empty.
  11. Finally, don't forget to include all appropriate categories.

Other Articles

  1. New articles should begin with a {{Stub}} tag. It will be removed or replaced by an administrator when the article is complete.
  2. The second inclusion should be an appropriate and filled-out infobox. If no infobox fits, an appropriate image or thumbnail positioned to the right is preferred.
  3. The third inclusion is a simple, concise description of what the article is about (the lede). Include the article's title in the lede and make rue it is in bold.
  4. The fourth is the information needed about the topic
  5. A Gallery is the final section, should there be any additional images concerning the subject that aren't appropriate elsewhere in the article.
  6. Finally, don't forget to include all appropriate categories.

Grammar

  1. Nouns within articles should not be preceded with possessive determiners. (e.g. Incorrect- "your Blockhead", "his shoes". Correct- "a Blockhead", "a Blockhead's shoes").
  2. Articles should be written using third tense. No second tense pronouns should be used (e.g. Incorrect - You should first build a campfire. Correct - A Blockhead should first build a campfire). It is understood that it is a player who controls the device, game, and initiates a Blockhead's actions. However, it is Blockheads that ultimately perform the action in game. Articles should be written with this in mind.
  3. Numbers should be written out if lower than eleven (one, three, five, ten, etc.) but written using numerals otherwise (100, 200, etc.). Do not put both the word and the numeral. (e.g. Incorrect- "one (1) copper coin", "fifty (50) sticks". Correct- "one copper coin", "50 sticks").
  4. Use logical quotation marks. (e.g. Incorrect- the tin foil hat prevents "mind control." Correct- the tin foil hat prevents "mind control".)
