Kelp is a form of seaweed and also a renewable resource that can be used for food, farming, and crafting. When consumed, kelp restores Health and Hunger. Kelp can also be planted in sand or dirt that is under water to grow additional kelp or make a Kelp Forest.
Appearance
This organism has a green slender appearance with a long curvy thallus and leaf-like blades. They are permanently anchored to the sea floor and sway to the water current.
Where Found
Kelp typically grows in temperate coastal waters that do not see seasonal freezing in the winter. They can spawn in water up to at least 15 blocks deep, and have been seen spawning on bare, underwater stone.
Crafting
It is the only ingredient in crafting compost.
