The hand is a slot of a blockhead's inventory representing its empty hand.

Uses

The icon is tapped to "reset" the current selected item or opt to have the blockhead use no tool. Tapping it also changes the display of a blockhead's accessible inventory by opening or closing all baskets and the clothing slots.

Some actions default to hand use (no tool) by their nature, such as harvesting fruit or picking up loose items, represented by the hand icon appearing over the selected action space. A hand can therefore also be considered a type of tool. However, using a hand is not as efficient as using the appropriate tool for the object being harvested, as it is slower and sometimes produces a lower yield than when a tool is used (e.g. using a hand to mine an ore).
