An emerald is a rare precious gemstone item that is used in crafting or for upgrading a blockhead's portal.
Appearance
Emeralds are green, small and square in appearance, shaped similar to amethysts. They distinctively radiant with a slight green luminescence under the lack of direct sunlight.
Where Found
Emeralds are naturally found in the cavernous networks and underground regions of the Blockheads world. They are typically surrounded by hard rock, such as stone. Occasionally, they can be found underwater in a subterranean confined or perched aquifer. They also can be rarely obtained by meditating.
Portal Upgrade
Emeralds are needed to upgrade a portal to an emerald (level 4) portal, allowing a blockhead to craft an emerald pickaxe.

They also allow a level 3 trade portal to be upgraded to level 4, increasing the variety of items that can be bought and sold.

Crafting
Emeralds can be used to craft emerald pickaxes at a blockhead's portal once the portal has achieved an emerald upgrade.

Emeralds can also be used to craft emerald chandeliers at a craft bench that has achieved a Lvl. 3 upgrade.

Emeralds are the sole ingredient in crafting the pigment emerald green at a press.

It is very costly to a make green dye. It is advised that you use black and blue dye to make a green in paintings.
