A platinum coin is currency used in the game. They can be found in golden chests. Platinum coins were added in version 1.6.
Where Found
Platinum coins may be found in golden chests.
One platinum coin can be made from one platinum ingot using a Electric Furnace.

Crafting
One platinum coin may be crafted into one platinum ingot.

Exchanging
At a portal or trade portal, a single platinum coin can be exchanged for 100 gold coins. The reverse is also possible, exchanging 100 gold coins for one platinum coin. This means that by turning them into coins and back, platinum ingots can be turned into gold ingots (at a rate of 1:100).

A platinum coin is the largest denomination of currency in the game.
