Rail: Difference between revisions

'''Rail''' is a [[:Category:Tool|tool]] that allows [[Blockhead]]s to ride a [[Steam Locomotive|steam locomotive]] or [[Rail Handcar|rail handcar]] on them once placed. It was introduced in [[Game updates/20131010|version 1.4]].

Rail is made in batches of ten (10), and can be [[Crafting|made]] at the [[Train Yard|train yard]]. Each batch of ten rail takes two [[Steel Ingot|steel ingots]] and one [[wood]].

Rail can only be [[Construction|placed]] on the ground or on the side of a solid [[Blocks|block]]. If placed adjacent to a solid block on the same level, it will angle up toward the top of that block. If the adjacent block is [[Mining|removed]], the angled rail will lay flat. If the lower blocks are at the same level, the slope will extend out up to two blocks (a gentler 26 degree slope instead of 45 degree).

Placed rails can be removed by tapping on them using a [[crowbar]] or by removing the block underneath; the former sends the removed rail to the acting [[Blockhead]]'s [[inventory]], the latter drops it in that place.

[[Crafting Surface|Crafting surfaces]], chests, and similar [[items]] may be placed in the same space as rail, although [[ladder]]s cannot. The placed items don't interfere with rail use.
